Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Teach both graduate and undergraduate courses and have 20 contact hours per week. Faculty have both classroom and clinical teaching responsibilities. Clinical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, pre-clinical preparation and post-clinical follow-up with students and staff, and continuous collaboration with clinical staff and development of clinical partnerships


Teaching responsibilities:

  • meet all classes
  • write and submit appropriate syllabi to students via Canvas
  • test and grade in a timely manner
  • advise students
  • supervise practica
  • write letters of recommendation
  • evaluate all courses
  • select and order texts
  • Hold a minimum of three (3) posted office hours per week for students.
  • Attend all Faculty Institutes and Faculty Senate Meetings, Commencements and Opening and Honors Day Convocations.
  • Attend Department and College meetings
  • Engage in research/scholarly activities (annual professional growth activities).
  • Assist in on-campus recruiting activities
  • Serve on one (l) University Committee
  • Other duties as assigned 

Education and/or Experience:  

  • DNP or PhD in Nursing or a discipline related to nursing is preferred. A Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution is the minimum degree requirement. Teaching is a primary contractual obligation and a substantial part of the total job responsibility.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Current unencumbered RN license in the State of Wisconsin
